Magnifying Attachment
- The Final Project required me to come up with a real world problem and solve it using the design process. For this project I developed a magnifying glass that is attachable to a screwdriver for glasses so the user can see the screws. This project required me to use my communication skills with other people in the group which were in different class periods.
- Constraints - Groups of only 4 students
- Idea must be approved by instructor
- Product must be made in a certain amount of time
- Must not violate patent infringement
- Complies with all health and safety codes

Problem Statement
People with vision impairments have trouble tightening the screws on their glasses due to being unable to see the screw. In the United States 75% of adults use some sort of vision correction. (glasses, contacts, or magnifiers)

Rough Sketch
This is the rough sketch I made in inventor of our final idea.
The idea is an interference fit that slips onto the screwdriver with ease.

Orthographic
- The orthographic contains the dimensions for the final product.

- The idea for this design is very simple and is only one part which makes it easy to manufacture.

Assembly
This orthographic shows the parts list of the final product and material it is made out of.
Assembly Video
The following video shows the concept of how the magnifying glass would be attached to the screwdriver
Conclusion
žThis project reinforced good communication skills.
ž
žHaving half of the group in a different class taught me how to log daily with detail so the other group members will be kept up to date efficiently.
ž
žI also experienced in depth the design process and the manufacturing world.
